The brand emerged from the creative vision of Chef Jade in January 2020. Inspired to craft a range of bottled kimchi varieties, she began producing them in her own kitchen and distributing them through farmers’ markets and delivery sales channels. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent blockade, this period unexpectedly provided a favorable opportunity for the nascent brand to thrive. Today, Himal Kimchi has established a permanent location in Kathmandu, where it continues to expand its offerings beyond kimchi, venturing into a diverse array of preserved and fermented food products.
